Games I played in 2024
I played a lot of games in 2024, but I only finished a few.
Games I finished:
Baldurs Gate 3
I played bunch of this in 2023, and a bunch in the first half of 2024. It is an amazing game. I want to do a full write up on it at some point.
The Last of Us Parts 1 and 2 Remastered
I played part 1 when it was released on the original PS3 and loved it. I did not play Part 2 when it was released (because I didn't want to play pandemic game in middle of pandemic). Part 2 was absolutely amazing.
Vampire Survivors
I didn't finish it, because I don't think it really can be done. But I put like 30 hours in to this on Switch. Very fun time waster.
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney 1
I played this back on DS when it first came out but didn't finish it then. This year I finished it on Nintendo Switch. I liked it a lot, but ended up using a guide for the last few cases to get through them.
Astro Bot
So much fun - see other post.
Pokemon Crystal
I had never played this (or Gold or Silver) before. Using the Delta emulator on iPhone I sped the game up and used cheats. It was a lot of fun not having to grind.
Pokemon Fire Red
I played Pokemon Red on the original Gameboy, but I have not played any of the remakes before. Using the Delta emulator on iPhone I sped the game up and used cheats. It was a lot of fun to revist.
Games I played but didn't finish:
Star Ocean Second Story R

Yakuza LIke a Dragon

Mass Effect Remaster
I loved these games when they first came out, and beat of them multiple times. I read and loved the books by Drew Karpyshyn. This time around I played Mass Effect 1 until I got to a mission on the Mako and quit. Then I jumped to Mass Effect 2...and played until I got to a mission on the Mako and quit. I did not attempt to replay Mass Effect 3.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
This had the same problems for me as Star Ocean and Yakuza Like a Dragon. I was playing it and I just wasn't having a great time so I stopped. The nostalgia was not enough to pull me through. I doubt I'll even buy the final remake.
Super Mario Wonder
This was great. I don't know why I stopped playing. I should pick it back up and finish it.
Pacific Drive
I played about 2 hours of this. It was moody and interesting, but the controls were odd and they did a terrible job explaining what to do and how to do it. It was more frustrating than fun so I dropped it.
